Welcome to

Heirlooms for Tomorrow

It is with great sorrow the family of Linda Johnson announce Linda's passing on December 26, 2004. She left behind her beloved Mother, Ann, and her two sisters, Lois and Jane.

Linda had a great love and passion for dolls, and she wished to share that passion with others. It is with this in mind that the family will allow several of Linda's beloved dolls be posted on eBay in the coming months.

The family would like to thank Linda's many friends and supporters and wish those close to Linda find peace in this difficult time.

God Bless.

Original Dolls by Linda Johnson

My dolls are made with love. I make them to be loved and cherished forever.  Each original cloth doll is hand painted and dressed in the 1800-1920 style. I have also made some cloth dolls from vintage patterns.I make my dolls as if I were making them for my own child or myself.  As always, my dolls are made with love to be loved for generations to come.

Making Friends

When I was feeling all alone,
I decided to make a friend of my own.
Searching down deep inside my box,
I found fabric for skin and yarn for her locks.
All through the night I stitched on my friend,
Hopeful we'd like each other in the end.
At last we sat, with smiles so wide,
Pleased that we each had a friend at our side.
While she may not replace the human kind,
We have much in common, since she sprang from my mind.
Loyal, faithful and good company,
I'm always cheerful when she's here with me.

 Stitching Friends

I stitched a doll named Cherry Red,
Who has the very bluest eyes
And red yarn on her head.
I tried to make her look like me,
But could not get it right.
Although she is shaped perfectly,
My own shape's "outta sight!"
When I was stuffing her, you see,
I smoothed out all the lumps,
But when the Lord was stuffing ME,
He left too many lumps!
Cherry gets along with me
As we sew through the day,
Because she sits there quietly,
No matter what I say!

"Real isn't how you are made," said the Skin Horse. "It's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real."
